Warm Weather Favorite: Bell’s Oberon

The bottle says, “An American wheat ale with a spicy hop character, mildly fruity aroma and the color and scent of a sunny afternoon.”

Oberon is brewed by Bell’s in Comstock, MI.  It has an alcohol by volume (ABV) is 5.8%.  Oberon is a personal favorite of mine.  I’m not going to pretend that I know anything about how a beer pours, smells, or what tastes are muted by the addition of citrus, I just know when a beer tastes good.  I first discovered Oberon a few years ago after a neighbor and I worked together to install his new fence.  After a few hours of work he handed me a beer.  It was just as delicious then as it is today.  It goes perfect with a warm “sunny afternoon.” A day just like today in Central Wisconsin.

  1. I’m a big fan of Bell’s Hop Slam, so I look forward to trying Bell’s Oberon. Thanks for sharing! Nellie, let’s hear about the sub par experience?

    1. Honestly, I couldn’t believe that Nellie only gave it 2 stars. I love Bell’s. They brew some great stuff. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a sixer and been dissapointed.
